hooked on a feeling (ooga chaka ooga ooga, ooga chaka ooga ooga)

To be honest, I was initially going to write this blog on how I find little kids being knocked over remarkably hilarious (I laughed for 5 minutes watching this video of a kid getting hit by a ball), but upon realizing that I would sound like a total psychopath (in which I reassure you that I am not), I have decided to write about the much more wholesome topic of the contagion of laughter.

It all started with this one video I saw on my Reels. I didn't even know what it was about, but the purple-haired-man had such a genuine, contagious laugh that it made me laugh to the point that my mom gave me a weird look. And to give context for the video, if you watch it (you should), the purple-haired man is laughing at a dick joke. Whether it be in "The Importance of Being Earnest" or in my Instagram feed, dick jokes are quite universal across men!

Another video (I love this one) I saw was of a man on a subway train laughing until he made the people around him laugh. Not only did he succeed in making almost all of the passengers laugh, but he also made the 16 million people who watched the video laugh as well. It was simply his genuine, full laughter that cheered these otherwise silent strangers. It's so beautiful seeing all the people in the video start to smile and laugh. I don't know these people, nor do I really care for them, but it makes me happy to see such apparent and widespread happiness.

I love seeing people laugh. I love laughing, especially with others. I love that people can make each other laugh, and so easily at that.

(I loved writing this, I've never laughed so much doing schoolwork.)

Note: The title of this blog post comes from the song "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede. Ooga chaka ooga ooga.
